Q&A: Rice Pudding and ThatcherJoe

Hello friend, care to join me? Today I thought I'd do a Q and A so that you could perhaps get to know a bit more about me, and it was another excuse for me to write a blog post :)

What is your favourite song right now?

Probably The Greatest by Sia or something from the Frozen soundtrack. I've been loving Frozen recently and I'm obsessed with the First Time In Forever Reprise.

What's your favourite colour?

It changes from time to time, but it's usually rose gold, pastel pink or a peachy coral.

Who is your favourite YouTuber to watch?

I like watching beauty gurus like Tanya Burr and Zoella, but then I also like more comedy skits, so I like people like ThatcherJoe, Liza Koshy and Amelia Gething. I've also been watching ScreenRant and Film Theory for Disney related videos. Okay, that's a lot more than one YouTuber haha.

What's your favourite food?

Hmmmmm, that's a hard one. Probably pizza/ spaghetti and meatballs for a main meal and then chocolate brownie ice cream/ salted caramel and Belgian chocolate cookies/rice pudding, although I would say that rice pudding is more of a comfort food to me. My mouth is literally watering at the thought of a fresh-out-of-the-oven Mum's rice pudding with a nice big dollop of golden syrup in the middle. Ahhhhhhh.

What is your favourite Disney film?

Oh no. You asked the question that no one asks. I would like to say just one but I'll have to give you my top 3 (no particular order):

1. Frozen
2. Tangled
3. Beauty and the Beast

Favourite artist/band?

Little Mix/ Twenty One Pilots/ Idina Menzel/Ariana Grande/ Troye Sivan/ Shawn Mendes.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed this post and that you got to know me a bit better.

Mid-Month's Most Marvellous

Hello friend, care to join me? Today I'm talking about my favourite things right now. In the middle of the month. What a rebel. They are all, unintentionally, pink and white or clear, so I feel like this post shall be quite aesthetic. Let's get started...

First of all are my Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes. I feel like these are really gentle towards your skin, especially around the eyes, as the skin around there is 10 times thinner than the rest of your face. Makeup disappears in one swipe, making sure that you don't have to scrub and scrub to get it off.

Next up is my Technic Natural Lashes Clear Conditioning Mascara. This has a light consistency and the applicator is brilliant for really brushing the product through the lashes from base to tip. It is brilliant for school since it is clear, and lasts well throughout the day. If you prefer a volumising/clumpy mascara look, this probably isn't for you.

The next thing I've been loving recently is the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Matte Lip Cream in Puppy Paws. This is such a beautiful peony pink shade with a hint of coral to brighten it up. The cream formula gives an easy application and is full of precision. I would make sure to put on a slathering of lip balm and line your lips before using this, as it can be quite drying and can fade at the edges.

I've also been using this Body Shop Lip Butter in Pink Grapefruit quite a lot. I already had the mango scent, which was quite creamy, but I think they may have changed it around. This butter glides on with ease, and has a slight scrub effect to it, to keep your lips nice and soft.

Another product I am in love with is the Yorkshire Soap Company Chocolate Fudge Cake Soap. I picked this up when I visited York recently and it smells SO DAMN GOOD. I don't think I can bare to use it, it's too pretty. This cost 5 pounds and it is well worth the money. I went in that shop every day whilst I was there, as this shop is only situated in and around Yorkshire.

The final item in my current favourites is this cake tin. I won this in a biology baking competition (GBBO here I come) and it is super cute and I think I'll use it to store memories and photos and little trinkety thinks like that. It simply says: "Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy you tea and cake and that's pretty much the same thing". I think if you live by this quote, you can't go far wrong!

So that is it for today's post. I'm officially on school holidays, so I might be posting a bit more frequently.
Thank you for joining me!

Care To Join Me?

Hello friend, care to join me? I have too many things to say, but no one I want to say it to. So if you would consider joining me on this journey, snuggle up in your cosy PJs, grab a cuppa and sit comfortably; we're going to be here a while...

First of all, hello, bonjour, hola, g'day! My name is anonymous. But I want you to feel as if you personally know me, so call me what you wish. I'll call myself Jess for now, although I could potentially be an Amber tomorrow. Right, let's cut to the chase, here are a few things to know about me:

  1. I am a  northern British teenage girl with no career ideas and a head full of dreams, opinions and questions. I have no pets and a birthmark in my hair (I'm something of a human Anna from Frozen). I am a fan of YouTube, Harry Potter, chocolate, Autumn and Winter. There is only one me here, so the many names may get confusing, but I'll probably settle for one in the future.

     2.  I am not a very religious person, although maybe at some point I will talk about my beliefs on this blog.

     3. I like to read a lorra lot. Blogs, magazines, newspapers, books; I'll read 'em all. Any YA category book recommendations would be deeply appreciated.

     4. There will be all sorts of posts on here (hopefully) such as book recommendations, beauty reviews, rants, my opinions on different subjects and perhaps monthly favourites. I'm not going to flood you with empty promises of how I'm going to post three times a week, because unfortunately homework exists and I surprisingly have a life. Side note: If I ever do rants, don't be surprised if they all begin with "I'm not being funny but..." because that is just the way life is.

     5. This blog is called "Blissfully Aware", a slight turn on the phrase "blissfully unaware". I see quite a few things differently in life, and I feel like there can't be bliss if you don't know what's going on in your life. But that's probably because I'm a nosey parker haha.

So basically, I'll post when I feel like it, although I promise I won't abandon you.
